The Geographical and the Cultural Landscape of Alwar |
These images present the geographical and the cultural landscape of Alwar, a very curious place. You move around the town. How it mingles with the undulating hills around with its vegetation of different hues in different seasons! Here the shepherdess takes the flock of sheep around the cenotaphs. We find a big placid lake with rare backdrop of the winter. Late evening sun colors the trees of the sloping hills with winter vegetation. While on the paths leading to the fort on the Aravalli range, we find squirrels basking. Down there on the plains the pigs venture across the half-filled pools and the woman waits for their return. Boys splash across the deeper pools scouring with the whips for the swarms of fish. We also see the big sign board with some of the letters of the city or some may call it a town. Down there in the town, we found a mixture of themes around the statues fixed on the facades of the houses facing the bazaar road leading to Tripolia. There on the front of the bookshop the late evening sun-light falls on the sacred books dealing with the Hindu mythology. |
