Taklesh Stream:

One fine morning, in May 2009, we played with the multitudes of hues in the ice-cold water.

This time the going appeared to be a bit tough beyond Reckong Peo. We had a puncture in the scooter tyre before we could reach Sarahan. And there was no repair shop. We could find one if we went down 22 kilometers to Jeori. When we went down 22 kilometers, we were told by a wizened shopkeeper that the road ahead was very rough because the flood came two years ago. Flood came and took away the road. It was then re-built; but many pitfalls cropped up. So we turned back. In fact we had wanted to proceed further towards Kinnaur. Around 50 kilometers or so from Jeori we spent the night at Rampur. The height was around 900 meters. Then we started back in the morning towards Narkanda. That was a climb from 900 meters to 2700 meters during the course of about 60 kilometers. However, just out of Rampur, on the outskirts we came across this stream. Although we had determined to move ahead without tarrying on the way, we remained stuck up there in the stream for a couple of hours. It did disturb our schedule but we are always fortunate if we can find many such things to disturb our schedule and the time was worth spending there.
